As many of you know I am a big, lifelong Diana buff and this concert was very important for me in many ways. I originally wanted to buy tickets and go to the concert but they weren't allowing kids under 12 and I wanted my children to go with me. So I resorted to watching the concert on VH1 all day and recording the one on NBC.
I was so impressed at what William and Harry put together for their mother and the strength it must have taken to get through the day. I think most of the acts were geared toward their tastes. Duran Duran was disappointing to say the least and I thought that Nick Rhodes having to look at the notes on a laptop was a sign of the times. I really enjoyed Elton John's opening performance that made the hair on my arms stand up. I enjoyed watching Lilly Allen, Rod Stewart, P.Diddy, The Andrew Lloyd Webber presentation and the English national ballet is what my kids are still talking about.
I think the most touching moment came at the end when the played never before seen movies of Diana set to a Queen song that really brought the whole day into perspective. I think it was a wonderful way to spend the day remembering her and that is what I did.
